I'm a junior here at The University of Akron. My Major is Early Childhood Education and a minor in Child Development. I have two brothers and one lovable puppy! I love to run, travel, make crafts, and be outside! My passions are children, helping others, mostly through missions trips that I have been on, volunteering in orphanages, and doing Vacation Bible School. My passion for teaching started at a young age. It started with playing "school" with my siblings and friends at early ages, then progressed to taking a special interest in my mother's job, a 5th grade teacher for Math, History, and Science in the Hudson City School Districts. I would go to class on my school days off and be her assistant, I would help her set up her classroom, make copies, decorate bulletin boards, anything she needed help with, I eagerly assisted. From then on, I just knew I would study that in college. I babysat and tutored children from the ages of seven years old and younger and took a great interest in Early Childhood stages. I've been on numerous Missions Trips to Dominican Republic, Uganda, and Cambodia to volunteer and teach English as a second language in schools and orphanages. This is when I knew I wanted to particularly study Early Childhood Education. I also absolutely adored my first grade teacher, and had the best experience. I am excited to start this semester in the Education program and hope to be the best teacher ever someday!
